Like so many mothers and fathers in our community, Sandra had to make some difficult choices when the pandemic hit last year. She had to quit her job to stay home with her children and she struggled with the thought that her limited English would keep her from helping her children with their homework.

When Sandra spoke with a reporter from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram last month, she expressed just how thankful she is for the Village Library after school tutoring program. The kids attend tutoring sessions online three times per week. Their grades are improving, and the kids look forward to their tutoring sessions each week. The pandemic forced the program to shift to an online format, but it has not changed the quality of the help our students receive.

Even though everything seems uncertain right now, families like Sandra’s can still count on the Village Library and the unmatched dedication of our staff and volunteers.
